WHAT DOES THE LEAF BAGGING SERVICE INCLUDE?
When you sign up for leaf bagging, the crew will arrive and use lawn mowers to collect all the leaves on your grass.ย The mowers shred the leaves which reduces them in volume, and the crew simply counts how many cans that they have picked up off your home. The cost is $6 per industrial sized can, and that includes both the additional labor and disposal fee. This is normally only a 4 – 5 week process and most homeowners have told us that its similar to what they would pay a neighborhood kid to rake the leafs.
WHEN IS LEAF SEASON?
We will start leaf bagging with normally scheduled mowing routes the week of October 8th. It will continue through the end of our mowing season, which is usually the week of Thanksgiving.
HOW ARE DISPOSAL COSTS CALCULATED?
As leaves from the property are collected with the mowers, they will be emptied into an industrial sized can (55 gallons).ย Upon completion our crews will count the cans and you will be charged the $6 per can.ย If a can is only half full, you will only be charged $3 for that half can.ย This fee includes labor and disposal.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT MY COSTS TO BE?
Leaf bagging is billed at a rate of $6 per can of debris, in addition to your weekly mowing rate.
While we cannot say how many cans of debris you will have, we can tell you that you should expect more cans while the majority of leaves are falling until mid season.ย After most of the leaves have fallen from the trees, you should start to notice less debris.ย Weโve heard from our clients that the weekly cost of leaf bagging is comparable to what a neighborhood kid raking the leaves would charge.
By bagging the leaves weekly we are able to save you time on your final fall clean up at the end of the season, which will reduce its cost.
Large lawns or properties with very large trees, should contact us, as some situations may have other methods which might be better for you.
CAN YOU BAG THE LEAVES AND PUT THEM IN MY BAGS OR LEAVE THEM BY THE CURB?
Yes, we can. However that would then carry an hourly labor charge to gather and bag the leaves and relocate them to the curb. Our $6 per can cost includes the labor and disposal charges and is much more cost effective for us to just haul them away for you.
IS THERE ANOTHER MEANS/METHOD THAT CAN BE USED?
While our leaf bagging service benefits most lawns less than 15k square feet in size with standard to medium sized trees, you may have a larger lawn or a lawn that has more mature trees than normal. In these scenarios we would offer a different approach that may include blowing the leaves to a nearby wooded area or mulched.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T HAVE MY LEAVES BAGGED?
Our crew will still mow a single pass of the lawn and existing leaves would remain on property.ย Keep in mind that when our crews arrive they are expecting your property to already have the leaves raked and sticks picked up.ย If for any reason there are too many leaves that hinder our equipment from mowing, our crews would choose to skip your property for the week and we’d have to schedule a clean up before mowing resumed.
Do I need to be home when you service my property?
Of course not! There is no need for you to wait at home for our crews to come to mow your lawn. Our goal at Elite Lawn Care is to simplify your life, by showing up and taking care of your lawn service for you. So go to work, drop your kids off at school, enjoy your time, while we take care of your yard work. Be sure if you have a locked gate, our crews have access to your lawn and that your pets are safe inside.
WILL LEAVING THE LEAVES ON THE GROUND DURING THE WINTER HARM MY GRASS?
It is important to note that leaves are acidic and leaving leaves on the ground during winter months will kill the grass underneath.ย Fallen leaves covering the grass will prevent the sun from providing the grass nutrients and could result in your lawn having mold and/or turf disease.ย Also, if you choose to leave them on the ground during the winter you can expect to need them cleaned up in the spring.ย You should know that after the winter when the snow has melted all of that moisture is trapped in the leaves, making them heavier and harder to clean up which would result in a longer hourly spring clean up and possibly a higher cost.
WHAT ABOUT LEAFS IN MY FLOWER BEDS?
The weekly leaf bagging service that is performed in addition to the mowing only includes leaves in the turf.ย Leaves in the beds are not included in this weekly service but will be removed during your final fall clean up, if you add that service.
WHAT IF IโM NOT ON YOUR MOWING ROUTE?
You can always call us to get scheduled for a clean up at our hourly labor rate plus disposal.ย You are likely to need several small clean ups throughout the fall season or you can expect one large clean up at the end of the season.
WHEN IS THE FINAL CLEAN UP?
This can vary depending on the season and when the leaves stop falling, however, normally the final fall clean up takes place the last two weeks of November.ย If you notice all the leaves have fallen off your trees sooner and would like your clean up to be scheduled, simply give our office a call.
We have dogs, will your crew close our gate?
Yes, our lawn mowing crews are trained to walk the property once the mowing service is finished and close any gate we opened during the service.
Do I have to clean up dog mess before service?
Of course not! While our crews do appreciate your efforts, it is not a requirement to pick up your dog mess before your mowing service. Our commercial equipment will ride over what is present and mulch it into the lawn.
How do I pay my bill?
For your convenience, when you sign up, you will put a credit card on your account file. Any service we perform will be auto-charged to your card. You are also welcome to call or log in to your online portal to update any payment information.
